What is the Leisure Card?
Selby District Council's Leisure Card Scheme offers reductions on a number of leisure activities. Leisure Cards provide great savings for anyone who may be on a lower income.
Who Qualifies for the Leisure Card Scheme?
Are you currently:
A full time student aged 16+ or registered on a Government Trainee scheme? A person with a disability?
A carer or attendant?
On a job seeker's allowance or receiving benefits?
60+ years old and retired from full time employment?
A child dependent on an adult who receives benefits? |
If so, you are entitled to a Leisure Card offering savings on activities at Abbey and Tadcaster leisure Centres.
What is an induction?
Prior to using our fitness facilities, all new members must first complete a full induction with one of our fitness instructors. The induction comes in two parts.
The first part guides new members through our range of fitness equipment, with the second part used to design a personalised fitness programme for each member.
The centre cannot accept proof of inductions from other gyms or fitness facilities.
Forum
Selby Leisure Services hold regular forums for both centre and non-centre users. Forums are held every six months for staff and member of the public to discuss future developments for the centre. These forums aim to allow members of public an input into our future service and help us to consult members of the public on the service we provide.

Private Car Park
Our private spacious car parks are free to centre users.
Disabled parking is located adjacent to the building entrance for easy access.
Skate Park
Abbey Leisure Centre skate park continues to attract hundreds of users year on year. With a number of ramps grind boxes and rails positioned within the grounds of the centre, the park is both fun and safe and its completely free!
